Milliliter.info - Kitchen Measurement Conversions

Free calculators and tables for every recipe

Convert any kitchen unit - instantly

Cups, ounces, tablespoons, teaspoons, Fahrenheit - all in one place.

Why you need a measurement converter

Recipes from the US use cups, ounces and tablespoons. Recipes from Europe use grams and milliliters. If you follow an American recipe with a European kitchen scale, you need to convert. That is exactly what this site does. Every page gives you the answer first, then a calculator, then a reference table.

All conversions follow US customary units unless stated otherwise. The calculators work in both directions. Type a number on either side and the other updates instantly. No app download, no sign-up, no tracking beyond standard analytics.

What you will find here

Each page covers one specific conversion. You get the quick answer at the top, a live calculator in the middle, and a full table below. We also explain the background: where the unit comes from, how it differs between countries, and what mistakes to avoid.

The most popular conversions are cups to milliliters, fluid ounces to milliliters, and tablespoons to milliliters. For baking, the cups-to-grams pages are essential because flour, sugar and butter all weigh differently per cup. We also cover Fahrenheit to Celsius for oven temperatures.

A pinch of knowledge saves a pound of flour. Convert once, bake with confidence.

How to use the calculators

Every calculator has two input fields and a slider. Enter a value on the left side to see the result on the right. Or type the result and get the original unit back. The slider gives you a quick way to scan through common values. All results update in real time.

On mobile, the calculators stack vertically. They work without JavaScript for the basic answer, but the live conversion needs a modern browser. All major browsers from 2020 onward are supported.

Bookmark this site on your phone. Next time a recipe says "2 cups flour", you are one tap away from the answer: 250 grams.

Accuracy and rounding

We use the exact US customary values defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). 1 US cup = 236.5882365 ml. 1 US fluid ounce = 29.5735295625 ml. In practice, we round to two decimal places. For kitchen use, even whole numbers work fine. The tables show both exact and rounded values.

Metric cups (250 ml, used in Australia) and Imperial cups (284 ml, used in older British recipes) are mentioned where relevant but are not the default. If a page does not specify, assume US customary.

💡

Tip: When a recipe just says "1 cup" without specifying a country, it almost always means the US cup (237 ml). Australian and British recipes usually state their unit explicitly.
